A musical fusion the likes of which the world had never seen or heard before, Babymetal first turned ears and heads when they released their self-titled debut album in 2014. Don't miss feisty, pint-sized performers Su-metal and Moametal in all their pig-tailed, metal pop glory as they hit US shores for their 20924 tour, taking names and filling arenas with their unique sound.
Combining the cutesy bubble-gum melodies of kawaii Japanese-pop with the rapid-fire solos, flaming licks and double bass drum pedal grooves of heavy metal, the idol group is the unapologetic product of the Japanese pop machine, crafting instantly catchy anthems that just happen to have heavy metal instrumental backing. Backed by their Kami band, the trio's synchronised dances, uniforms and girl power rallying cries elicit mosh pits, head banging and singalongs from their fervent fans across the land.
In 2018, Yuimetal parted ways with BABYMETAL, one of the core members of the Japanese group. She left to pursue a solo career under the name Mizuno Yu.
In October 2020, a book titled "Bessatsu Kadokawa Souryoku Tokushuu" was published in Japan, chronicling BABYMETAL's first decade. It features extensive interviews with Su-metal and Moametal, behind-the-scenes anecdotes from producer Kobametal, live show photos, and a dialogue between Demon Kakka and Kobametal. BABYMETAL's most recent album, "The Other One," was released in March 2023, marking their latest conceptual endeavor.
